• Redemption is the Means and Basis of Salvation:
  • Redemption is the methodological and foundational act that makes salvation possible for us. By Jesus Christ paying the price for sin with His blood shed on the cross (redemption), we are freed from sin and can attain salvation.
     
  • Hebrews 9:12 clarifies that "He entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calves but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption," showing that Jesus' blood provides the redemption that serves as the basis for salvation.
     
  • Colossians 1:13-14 states, "He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins." This demonstrates that through redemption, forgiveness of sins occurs, and we are delivered from the domain of darkness (an aspect of salvation).
     
     
• Salvation is the Comprehensive Result of Redemption:
  • Salvation refers to the overall state and all the benefits obtained through redemption. It is a broad concept that includes forgiveness of sins, justification, reconciliation with God, sanctification, eternal life, and future glory.
     
  • Romans 5:9-10 explains, "Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life."
