[섭리] 섭리는 왜 중요한가?

I. 하나님의 섭리가 중요한 이유

하나님의 섭리 교리는 신앙생활과 세계관에 있어서 다음과 같은 중요한 의미를 가짐.

 

1. 하나님의 주권과 능력에 대한 확신:
   • 세상이 혼돈스럽고 예측 불가능해 보여도, 하나님이 모든 것을 통치하시고 당신의 목적을 이루신다는 것을 깨닫게 함. 이는 우리의 한계를 인정하고 하나님의 무한한 능력을 신뢰하게 함.
   • 불안과 염려 극복: 모든 것이 하나님의 손 안에 있음을 믿을 때, 우리는 미래에 대한 불확실성 속에서도 평안을 찾고 불필요한 염려를 줄일 수 있음 (마태복음 6:25-34, 빌립보서 4:6-7).
2. 삶의 의미와 목적 부여:
   • 우리의 삶에 일어나는 모든 사건들이 우연이 아니라 하나님의 더 큰 계획과 목적 속에 있음을 알게 함. 이는 고난 속에서도 의미를 찾고, 우리의 삶이 헛되지 않음을 확신하게 함.
   • 로마서 8:28의 위로: 모든 일이 합력하여 선을 이룬다는 약속은 고통과 역경 속에서 큰 위로와 소망을 제공함.
3. 하나님께 대한 전적인 신뢰와 순종 촉구:
   • 하나님의 섭리는 하나님만이 진정으로 신뢰할 수 있는 분이며, 그분의 지혜와 선하심을 믿고 순종하는 것이 마땅함을 가르침.
   • 우리가 이해하지 못하는 상황 속에서도 하나님의 선한 인도하심을 믿고 따르게 함.
   • 하나님께 영광 돌림: 모든 것이 하나님의 섭리 아래 있다는 인식은 우리 삶의 성공과 실패 모두가 하나님의 영광을 위한 것임을 깨닫게 하며, 겸손하게 하나님을 찬양하게 함.
4. 역사의 최종적인 승리 보장:
   • 세상의 악과 불의가 만연해 보여도, 궁극적으로 하나님의 뜻이 성취되고 예수 그리스도를 통한 구원과 심판의 역사가 완성될 것임을 확신하게 함. 이는 종말론적인 소망을 제공함.

I. Why God's Providence is Important

 

The doctrine of God's providence has significant implications for faith and worldview:

1. Assurance in God's Sovereignty and Power:
   • Even when the world seems chaotic and unpredictable, it helps us realize that God governs all things and will accomplish His purposes. This leads us to acknowledge our limitations and trust in God's infinite power.
   • Overcoming Anxiety and Worry: Believing that everything is in God's hands allows us to find peace amidst future uncertainties and reduce unnecessary worry (Matthew 6:25-34, Philippians 4:6-7).
2. Imparting Meaning and Purpose to Life:
   • Knowing that all events in our lives are not random but part of God's larger plan and purpose helps us find meaning even in suffering and assures us that our lives are not in vain.
   • Comfort of Romans 8:28: The promise that all things work together for good provides great comfort and hope in times of pain and adversity.
3. Calling for Absolute Trust and Obedience to God:
   • God's providence teaches that God alone is truly trustworthy, and it is right to trust in His wisdom and goodness and obey Him. It leads us to follow God's good guidance even in situations we do not understand.
   • Glorifying God: The realization that everything is under God's providence helps us understand that both our successes and failures are for God's glory, leading us to humbly praise Him.
4. Guaranteeing the Ultimate Triumph of History:
   • Even when evil and injustice seem prevalent in the world, it assures us that ultimately God's will will be accomplished, and the history of salvation and judgment through Jesus Christ will be completed. This provides an eschatological hope.
